Everett and Southwestern Oregon did not disappoint in the second round of the EvCC Classic. Both teams battled back and forth until the final minute. After a few runs by SWOCC in the second half, the Trojans found themselves down 10 going into the fourth quarter. After a big three by Hannah Hezekiah, the Trojans were down three with under 2 minutes to go in the game. SWOCC quickly scored four more points nearing the final minute of play before Hannah Hezekiah would make one more three to keep the Trojans within 5 points and only 41 seconds of play. Southwestern Oregon was able to close out in the final minute to win by a score of 79-73.
Kelsey Mellick did all she could scoring 32 points and bringing down 8 rebounds to keep the Trojans in the game to the final seconds. Alexa Martin finished with 10 points on 6 of 14 shooting. Starters Morgan Marshall and Hannah Hezekiah also added 10 points each.
The Trojans will play their final game of the EvCC Classic tomorrow at 2pm.
